Advancing Women’s Football Professionalization! Formosa Pharmaceuticals Supports Taipei Bravo’s Japan Exchange to Deepen International ESG Commitments

2026/4/20

To further its ESG sustainability initiatives and foster social prosperity, Formosa Pharmaceuticals supported the Taipei Bravo Women’s Football Team during their visit to sister club Viamaterras Miyazaki in Japan on April 18 and 19. The two-day international exchange included joint training sessions to refine technical skills and an invitation to attend a Viamaterras first-team home match in the Nadeshiko League. By observing Japan’s mature professional league system, the initiative aims to help Taiwan’s women’s football progress toward full professionalization.

Formosa Pharmaceuticals stated: “Supporting the development of women’s sports is at the core of our sustainability commitment. By facilitating this international exchange with a professional Japanese team, we aim not only to broaden the players’ competitive horizons but also to be a driving force for professionalization in Taiwan, ensuring that a healthy sports culture becomes a foundation for social resilience.”

This exchange program specifically aligns with the following Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, demonstrating corporate impact across three social dimensions:

  • Local Communities (GRI 413): Connecting the sports communities of Taipei and Miyazaki through international exchange, expanding the company’s global social engagement.

  • Diversity and Equal Opportunity (GRI 405): Consistently investing in women’s sports to promote gender equality and provide diverse development opportunities for athletes.

  • Indirect Economic Impacts (GRI 203): Supporting the transition of women’s football toward professionalization, which drives structural transformation and positive economic benefits within the domestic sports ecosystem.

Guided by the brand belief “See the power in the small,” Formosa Pharmaceuticals remains dedicated not only to biopharmaceutical R&D but also to working alongside the Taipei Bravo Women’s Football Team to achieve a sustainable vision of shared social well-being on both local and international stages.
